Twenty Microns Is Enough to Destroy a Bearing
Particulate as small as 20 microns — half the width of a human hair — is enough to score a bearing surface, seize a servo valve or hang up a cylinder. That contamination is built into new systems: mill scale, weld spatter, casting sand, pipe dope and fabrication debris all sit in the oil system at first fill, and the equipment they destroy is the most expensive on site.
Conventional high-volume oil flushing is slow. A run typically takes 72 to 288 hours, because the oil has to be pumped at high flow for long enough to lift and carry the debris out. How Cleanliness Is Proven
Flushing is verified against ISO, NAS and SAE particle count standards, with documented particle counts and filter analysis issued as part of the record. Inline particle counters give real-time monitoring during the flush rather than a single sample at the end, and vacuum dehydration oil purification removes dissolved moisture at the same time.
